This is a very old hotel right in the center of Vail Village. Consider it a Holiday Inn with excellent service. However it is very expensive. The rooms are old and small, the doors are light and hollow, the furniture is very beat up, the bathrooms are tiny and very dated. The service here is so exceptional, especially for Vail, that I see why it is always full capacity. Adam was very kind, patient and accommodating at the front desk. The breakfast was a typical continental breakfast but fresh and clean. The cleaning crew was always working and did an excellent job keeping the hotel clean. This hotel uses a very very strong smelling deodorizer and it gave my guests and I a headache upon entering the room. Once we aired the room out, it was much more pleasant. The swimming pool is small but the hot tub is nice and hot. I would stay here again if the price was much, much cheaper because of it's location. However for the price we paid I would pick the Grand Hyatt or the Four Seasons next time.
We know we overpaid, but during the holidays there are not a lot of options so we were willing to pay for the location, which is great!
The "free breakfast" was some fruits and danishs, coffee or tea, and juice so maybe not a family kind of place?
The staff was super nice, but it would be great if they spoke in English in front of guests. We didn't mind too much as my wife is not from the USA, but I could tell the other guests were not comfortable because they didn't understand what the staff was saying and I overheard a woman say "is she talking about us?".
Parking is a premium, so don't bring a large SUV as the garage space is tight - $45 per night to park underground or $60 to park on the street.
The room was ok and what you would expect for a 3 star place - if you want location, this is your place.
The customer service at this hotel is top of the line! We had the most inviting and warm service from every person we encountered there. I called before our trip and spoke to Daniel. Daniel was super helpful and helped secure my decision to stay at Sitzmark. Upon arrival, the gal at the front desk could not have been any sweeter. The room was clean, beds were comfy, the view was amazing, the pool was gorgeous, the breakfast was included/decent and the location can’t be beat! We walked everywhere, including the nearby Amphitheater. I highly recommend this hotel, if you’re in Vail Village.
Very centrally located in the Vail resort area. All activities are within easy walking distance including mountain gondola and chair lifts. Rooms are pretty standard sized but clean and well maintained. Beds are comfortable. Check-in was simple
Parking is simple but is an extra expense. Everyone is friendly and helpful
I highly recommend the Sitzmark Lodge. The rooms are comfortable, clean & beautiful. I had a small balcony with a wonderful view! They are in the process of renovating their lobby but they gave me ample notice about this (even without a lobby, they are doing a great job of making the check-in process easy). I would like to give a big thank you to Steve who went out of his way to help me when I checked out. I had reserved an Uber the day before to take me to Eagle Regional Airport. Unbeknownst to me, that doesn’t guarantee you a ride and so shortly before my reserved time, Uber said they couldn’t find me a driver. Steve took my bag for me and we raced over to the Vail Village Transportation Center. When we arrived, I called the cab company but they were completely booked. While I was calling, Steve went to the bus station and found out that the city bus could get me there on time (with 5 minutes to spare:) Steve went above & beyond to make sure I caught my flight and I am very grateful. In addition to Steve, the entire staff was friendly & helpful. I highly recommend this hotel and the location can’t be beat!!
edit: The reply is wrong. As we discussed, I WAS doublecharged, and it was an easy fix (charging the MOP that was used to book instead of my incidental CC) but you DID NOT fix it. So I liked the room! But I dislike being lied to, and especially being called a liar for pointing out a mistake that no one bothered to correct even after I emailed and called and left this review. $100 is a lot of money to me. My review is for other people who would similarly feel bad about losing $100 they didn’t plan to lose, not a space for the owner to save face. Thanks for your reply though.
Original Review:
My mother called ahead and made sure the room, pet fee, and parking were all covered before I arrived. She was sent an invoice with a total, prepaid.
I gave $100 for incidentals when I checked in (under Brady Beavers, my partner). They charged my mother the same amount she was given over the phone, including pet and parking fees, and then they kept my incidental $100.
When I asked why the $100 was kept, they said it was for pet and parking fees.
We paid for pet and parking twice. Be wary! And I guess expect to be gaslit if you discover their error.
Love this place, been going here for years. Currently under new ownership and remodel coming soon. Great breakfast is included, and the front desk staff is attentive and very helpful. Large truck and vehicle parking is a bit tricky, but …
Room is spacious but we got a non smoking room and it still had the smell of cigarettes
Also they are a pet friendly Lodge but I don't have a dog & my room shouldn't smell of pets in our room smelt like an old wet dog as well for 350$ a night with 50$ parking definitely not worth it
The View from the room was beautiful you can see the river & mountains around but also they charge 3$ a Bottle for the cheapest water around a small bottle of aqua fina is less than 10cents when you buy a Case and they sell each bottle for 3$ that's insane at least buy some Fiji some nice brand water and sell it to me for 5$ I am fine with that but come on really ? Wow such a rip off
Breakfast was good tho they offer breakfast burritos made locally in Denver
